Downhill Tires for the Race Townie’s Winter rides.
2.4 Sized Tires for Float
The Race Townie is winterized with fat downhill treads. This bike sees the road every day in Gunnison Colorado. When it gets to below -30 degrees F the wheels tend to roll a bit slower. However, it always gets me there pretty quickly.
These tires alone probably add about five pounds to the townie. Great for training and I am always psyched to get the skinny whitewalls back on in the spring. I run about 20 psi in these wheels to help with traction on the ice. Rarely do these break free when I am not expecting them too.
